Xavier Fourquemin was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, went to school in Bagneux and eventually Toulouse. He headed for Belgium, where he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Tournai, where he attended classes by Antonio Cossu. He made his debut as a comic artist in 1996, with a 4-page story in magazine Gotham. He started a cooperation with writer Dieter, and together they created series such as 'Alban' (Le Téméraire/Soleil, 1998-2004) and the humorous western 'Outlaw' (Glénat Grafica, 2001-2005).
