This is a very significant cartoon as it was the very first cartoon published (on page 7) in Playboy in the very first edition in December 1953 = and doubly significant as Hugh Hefner always considers himself a cartoonist before he was an editor so it is his personal first selection of a cartoon as an editor to set the tone for the following history of the magazine

The artist is Ben Denison who subsequently produced a series of cartoons of girls in cars of which I have a few (to be posted later - spoiler alert!)
