Amaury Bouillez studied Fine Arts in Tournai, and at age 16 he joined the comics studio of Antonio Cossu and Thierry Umbreit. Bouillez is an admirer of Tardi, which can be seen in his album 'Le Phalanstère du Bout du Monde' (with text by Corbeyran). Bouillez succeeded in creating a dark atmosphere in this comic about an orphanage, by effectively using black and white contrasts. Text (c) Lambiek
