About Cyril Bonin

Born in Saône-et-Loire, Cyril Bonin took courses in Fine Arts in Mâcon, then studied Decorative Arts in Strasbourg and finally took a one year DESS course focused on synthesis of images. He worked for a small video production company for two years, while also doing illustration work. He made his comics debut at the publishing house Casterman with the 'Fog' series, a series about the crimes of Jack the Ripper in 19th Century London, which he made in cooperation with writer Roger Seiter from 1999 to 2004. In 2005, he illustrated the first album in Frank Giroud's 'Quintett', a series about a French unit in the Balkans in 1917, of which each episode is drawn by another artist. In 2009 he created the one-shot 'Quand souffle le Vent' with writer Laurent Galandon at Dargaud. He became an allround author with his series 'Chambre Obscure' (Dargaud, since 2010), and with the one shot tales 'La Belle Image' (Futuropolis, 2011) and 'L'Homme qui n'existait pas' (Futuropolis, 2012).
