First appearing in the self published 6 issue series, later to be put out as a book by Fantagraphics Underground this is a double page splash from Inés Estrada's Alienation.
The sentiment expressed by the main character Elizabeth on this page, is exacerbated by the fact that this scene takes place while in the VR game "Worlds," during the "choose your own adventure" portion of the book, that is a place where Elizabeth chooses (or you chose for her) to go to relax, enjoy and get away from the current troubles she is experiencing.
A book that feels like it's really trying to grapple with who we are IRL and the different personas digital or otherwise we have created for ourselves. I imagine this book will be labeled as "prescient" in a few years as we continue to use and eventually become digital persons. Yikes!
Both versions are currently out of print, however Fantagraphics will be releasing it again in an expanded edition with new pages.
