About Hervé Bourhis

Hervé Bourhis is a French comics author from Bordeaux. He was born in Touraine, studied plastic arts, and began his career working as a web graphics artist upon graduation in 1999. He has published several comic books since 2002, either as a writer or as writer/artist. His first book was 'Thomas, ou le Retour du Tabou' at Les Humanoïdes Associés. which earned him the Goscinny Prize for best young comics writer. He then wrote 'Le Stéreo Club', a comic series about music fans, for artist Rudy Spiessert at Dargaud (2004-2006). Most of Bourhis's oeuvre is full of references to and influences of pop culture. He drew inspiration from the early Marvel superheroes of the 1940s for his series 'Comix Remix', of which Dupuis published three books between 2005 and 2007. Bourhis and Spiessert continued their collaboration at Dupuis with the medeival series 'Ingmar' (2006-2010), which has been described as a "Johan et Pirlouit on acid", and then with the Star Wars parody 'Naguère les étoiles' at Delcourt (2010-2011).
