Taken from the auction description: Original comic art done by Rubino for “Pippotto e Barbabucco”, little Pippotto and the goat Barbabucco appeared for the first time on the Corriere dei Piccoli on March 20th 1910 . They are to be counted among the most iconic characters created by the genius from San Remo.

I knew a bit about Rubino and his importance in the history of comic art but really started to appreciate his work and influence more over the last year. I was hoping to come back from my Italian trip with a Rubino and here it is. Nice, iconic and from his prime early period. Perfect.
