                About Philippe Gauckler
After several art studies, Philippe Gauckler made his debut in Métal Hurlant in 1982. Here, he illustrated several short stories written by Charles Imbert and published in album by Hummanoïdes Associés ('Suicide Commando', 'Duel'). In 1984 he teamed up with Joël Houssin, to create the science fiction saga 'Blue'.
Again with Houssin, Gauckler created 'Franck le Menteur' in 1989. In the 1990s he started his most famous series, 'Karen Springwell', at Humanoïdes and in cooperation with the scenarist Thierry Smolderen. In addition to his comics work, Philippe Gauckler is active as an illustrator for several books and magazines.
