Self-taught artist Yves Bordes made his first comic pages for Fleurus publishers. They appeared in 1978 in such magazines as Djin, Formule 1 and Fripounet. Also for Fleurus, Bordes cooperated on Historique magazine, making illustrations and posters. He also worked for Toboggan, Spatial and Sud-Ouest. While doing several campain art jobs, Bordes started the 'Foq' series in Charlie Mensuel in 1983. The series, written by René Durand, was later continued in Pilote. In 1984 and 1985, he illustrated 'Le Roi a 100 Ans', a comic for the carnaval of Nice. In the collection Les Grandes Battailles de l'Histoire, he illustrated 'La Grande Guerre' and 'La Marne de Verdun', both written by Marcel Uderzo and Jean Mabire. In 1986, Bordes started a second series, the historical 'Le Nain Rouge'. Yves Bordes has also cooperated on a collective album and several portfolios. In the 1990s, he illustrated such albums as 'Oro' (written by Cizia Zykë) and 'L'Oeil de la Nuit'. Text (c) Lambiek
