This issue is the first time ever John Romita SR drew Spider-Man. Daredevil #16 (May 1966) and 17 were his tryout before Stan Lee gave him the Amazing Spider-Man series to draw, after steve Ditko resigned. The Romita SR run on Spidey began in Amazing Spider-Man# 39 in August 1966.

John V. Romita Sr., often credited as simply John Romita is an American comic-book artist best known for his work on Marvel Comics' The Amazing Spider-Man. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2002.
