Description
Conan faces a ghostly bat as the Cimmerian barbarian is left by the other soldiers to battle the phantom flier. Ink and screentone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Slight toning, vellum overlay with art for added effects loosely taped at the top, marginal notes, blue pencil editorial marks and whiteout corrections, edge tears and missing corners, with creasing, staining, and edge/handling wear. In Very Good condition

Une des histoires tirées de la nouvelle de Robert E. Howard et Lin Carter.
Sans nulle doute une de mes histoires préférée, et une période que j'adore de la part de Buscema.
On retrouve les éléments classiques constitutifs d'aventures de Conan réussies : des batailles titanesques, des créatures inattendues, du fantastique...
J'ai une profonde affection pour ce style initial entre Big John et son encreur Philippin, qui l'accompagnera pendant plusieurs décennies.

About John Buscema
John Buscema, born Giovanni Natale Buscema, was an American comic-book artist and one of the mainstays of Marvel Comics during its 1960s and 1970s ascendancy into an industry leader and its subsequent expansion to a major pop culture conglomerate.
His younger brother Sal Buscema is also a comic-book artist. Buscema is best known for his run on the series The Avengers and The Silver Surfer, and for over 200 stories featuring the sword and sorcery hero Conan the Barbarian.
