Gipi, one of the most important italian comic artists, received one year after this album was published the price at Angoulieme (2006) for „Notes pour une histoire de guerre“. Later he received the Prix Quai des Bulles (2017), the Grand prix de la critique ACBD (2018) and the Prix de la meilleure Bande Dessinee de Science Fiction (Utopial) (2017).
Besides all these prices he does beautiful, quite, wonderfully coloured Comic stories about everyday people, their feelings and emotions.

The Local is a beautiful book with high quality watercolors pages - a lot in this book is unsaid the story is full of quite, poetic atmosphere.

About Gipi
Gian Alfonso Pacinotti is an Italian comic book artist. He made a name for himself with the publication of four of his albums, including Notes pour une histoire de guerre, which won the Best Album prize at the 2006 Angoulême Festival.
