Matagne : L'épingle du jeu, "...Il a réussi ses études de médecine..."

Michel Matagne was an artist with TVA Dupuis, the animation department of the publishing house Dupuis, in the 1960s. He was also occasionally present in the publisher's comics weekly Spirou during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. He has created several stories for the mini-books section in cooperation with his studio colleagues Raoul Cauvin, Eddy Ryssack and Charles Degotte, which they signed with Desquatre. He also drew some stories on his own from scripts by Lucien De Gieter or Charles Degotte. Matagne, who was mainly a background painter, showed his skills in painted covers for the magazine's seasonal issues, but also with illustrations for sections like 'Contes du grand Schtroumpf' by Peyo and Yvan Delporte.
