Description

Le tombeau d'Absalom
Tome 7
Edition Dargaud mars 1996

Comment

About Didier Savard

Didier Savard was born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye (Yvelines) and was initially an English teacher. He began his artistic career on the side, making his first illustrations in Survivre et Vivre and the daily Libération in 1972. In the following year, Libération published his first comic, 'Le Fabuleux Destin d'Auguste Pinochet'. In 1979, a collection of his humorous work for magazines like Méfi, Fluide Glacial, Libération and La Gueule Ouverte was published in the album 'Demain, Ça Ira Encore Mieux!' at Encre Noire. In 1980, he became a regular contributor to the magazines L'Écho des Savanes and L'Étudiant. He also made several short stories for Pilote. Savard radically changed his style in 1982, coming up with Clear Line-inspired graphics in the series 'Dick Hérisson' in Charlie Mensuel. Continuing this style, he collaborated with scenarist Jean-Claude Forest on 'Leonid Beaudragon' in Okapi in 1986, of which Éditions Bayard published three books between 1986 and 1992. Savard teamed up with scenarist and colorist Sylvie Escudié in 1992, and revived the classic series 'Perlin et Pinpin', that was created by Maurice Cuvillier in 1940, in Perlin magazine.
