About Denys Cowan

Denys Cowan is an African American comic book artist. He began his career assisting Arvell Jones, Keith Pollard, Rich Buckler and Ron Wilson in the second half of the 1970s. Among his early credits are backgrounds for DC's 'Green Lantern', and artwork for the Crusty Bunkers Comics Studio. He has worked on many DC titles in the 1980s, such as House of Mystery and Mystery in Space, and did popular runs on 'The Question' with Dennis O'Neil, and 'Batman'. For Marvel he illustrated many covers, as well as titles like 'Luke Cage and Iron Fist' and the 1990s 'Deathlok' miniseries. Cowan was one of the founders of Milestone Media, and later worked as a producer on several (animated) television series, such as 'Static Shock' and 'The Boondocks'. Text (c) Lambiek
