Thanks to his agent, Don started to get new jobs besides the Westerncomics he had been doing for some years. In 1960 the editors of the magazine Lion were looking for an artist for their new series. It was written by Henry Kenneth Blumer en was about a likeble viking who fought, supported by some Norwegian Gods agains the unjustice against his vikingfriends. Karl the Viking was the title of this new series and from day one it was a big hit. De series ran from Octobre 1960 till Septembre 1964 en was reprinted for many years.
